Day 33; June 1: Got up to an absolutely calm anchorage with glass like water. Heading to Pybus Bay through Fredrick Sound about 55 miles today. The water was smooth the entire way. About 7 miles from the bay we saw a whale, its arched back came out of the water once never to be seen again. About 10 minutes later another whale came out of the water about 25 yards in front of the boat, I hit idle immediately. It also never came back up for its picture opportunity. Once anchored in Cannery Cove, Carolyn spotted a bear. After many pictures a new pair of bears showed up down the shore line. Then another loaner came out to eat some grass and then another pair came out. All-in-all, we had 6 bears on the shore, five were there at the same time. The valley that leads to the cove is really beautiful.

  1. Tim, you do such a good job letting all of us know and see all of the updates and pictures. Tell Carolyn she does a good job on her picture taking. I’m sure she takes plenty of of each one. I think back of the memories that Ray and I had of all of our Fishing trips to the rivers in Queen Charlotte Island, and the tip of Alaska when you’re my age, you’re gonna sit back and think of all of those memories and pictures you’re going to enjoy looking at and say to yourself I wish I was fishing.
