Yesterday we left Umatilla harbor to be at the lock at 9:00 AM, I called at 7:00 hoping they would let us through early but no luck. In fact, at 9:00 AM they radioed that there would be a delay, I suspect it was a Krispy Kreme emergency. Going through went well with no blood shed. The ride from the dam to Kennewick is mostly high gorge rocky terrain until shortly before getting to Kennewick when it turned flat as a pancake. We went under one RR bridge that had a clearance of 18' so I went out and lowered the VHF antennas so our air draft was 15'.

Yesterday was 98 here and predicted to be 104 today. After we tied up we went to a brew pub literally at the top of the ramp. We returned to the boat to find the pilot house at 103. We went back to the pub and decided to get a room for tonight. We also decided to get an portable air conditioner. We used Uber for the first time he picked us up took us to Home Depot and brought us and a big box back to the marina. Surprisingly it worked very well. Hopefully that will make the rest of the trip a little cooler.
