Day 54, 6/22: Left Hoonah at 6 AM to ensure we beat any wind crossing Icy Strait but the ride to Glacier Bay was smooth. We called on the radio for permission to enter and got the ok to proceed to Bartlett Cove. Once we got there, we needed to do an orientation but they were scheduled for 9, 12 and 4 PM. Note to self: read all the way down on a 5-page government website. No one showed up for the 10 AM camper orientation they took pity on us and started our orientation. We looked at the lodge and info center and got on our way and we saw a tour boat stopped, so we approached and they were watching whales. We watched the show for a while and proceeded to our anchorage. We stayed in Blue Mouse Cove, since there was a posted noise restriction, we expected it to be busy but we were the only boat all night.

Day 55, 6/23: Pulled the anchor at 8:30 proceeding to Queens Inlet, Rendu Inlet, Tarr Inlet, Johns Hopkins Inlet and anchored in Reid Inlet for the night. There was a lot of glacier scenery and sadness to see how far the glaciers have receded. Our timing was really good for other boats, the ships were before and after us. We made it through the upper west arm today and hope to do the east arm tomorrow. The weather was clear and sunny but it is going to change with rain in the forecast.
